Firefox is not available as a standalone app on Xbox Series X in the way it is on Windows, macOS, Android, or iOS. However, you can still access Firefox-related browsing by using the built-in web browser on your Xbox, or by using remote access from another device where Firefox is installed. The best option depends on whether you need full Firefox features (extensions, syncing, bookmarks) or just normal web browsing. Below are practical ways to browse the web on Xbox Series X and still keep a Firefox workflow.Option 1: Use the built-in Xbox web browser (most direct)Xbox consoles include a web browsing experience through the system browser. This is the simplest way to open websites directly on your Xbox Series X without installing Firefox.Open Microsoft Edge (the Xbox web experience is typically Edge-based).Sign in if you want to sync favorites (optional).Navigate to the website you need and use the on-screen controls.Option 2: Use remote browsing from a PC/Mac where Firefox is installedIf you specifically need Firefox features (like extensions, password manager behavior, and a consistent UI), remote access is usually the most reliable approach. You can run Firefox on your computer and view/control it from your Xbox using remote desktop or streaming.Recommended workflowInstall and sign in to Firefox on your PC.Enable remote access/streaming on your PC (for example, Remote Desktop or a streaming solution).Connect from Xbox to view the remote Firefox session.Use your keyboard/mouse or controller depending on the remote setup.Tip for a smoother experienceRemote browsing works best on a stable network. Use Ethernet on your console/PC if possible, and avoid heavy downloads while streaming.Option 3: Use a different browser that is available on XboxIf your goal is simply to browse the web on Xbox, using a browser that is available on the console may be better than trying to “install Firefox.” In practice, many Xbox users rely on the built-in Edge experience for compatibility and performance. What you can and cannot expectExpect: Web browsing on Xbox via the built-in browser.Expect: Firefox on Xbox only through workarounds like remote access.May not get: Firefox extensions and full Firefox-specific settings directly on Xbox.Quick checklistDo you need Firefox extensions and sync? If yes, use remote browsing.Do you just need to open websites? If yes, use the Xbox built-in browser. Is your network stable? If not, remote browsing may feel laggy. If you tell me what you’re trying to do (e.g., watch a site, log into an account, use extensions, or sync bookmarks), I can recommend the best setup for your exact use case.
