Looking for an old version of Gorilla Tag can be useful if you want to reproduce a specific mod setup, fix a compatibility issue, or play on a version that a friend is using. However, downloading “old versions” from unofficial mirrors can be risky because some sites bundle malware or modified game files. The safest approach is to use legitimate distribution sources, verify what you are installing, and avoid executables that are not clearly tied to the original publisher. Below are practical, safer options and a checklist you can follow before installing any older build.Best options to get an older build (safest first)1) Use official version control (if available)Some PC games support rolling back via official tools (for example, Steam branches or built-in version selection). If Gorilla Tag supports this on your platform, it is the safest way to get an older version without downloading random installers.Open your game platform (e.g., Steam) and check for “Properties,” “Betas,” or “Branches.”If branches exist, select the older branch and let the platform download the correct files.Verify the game launches normally before installing any mods.2) Use a reputable mirror only when you understand the risksIf you cannot use official rollback options, some websites claim to host older versions. In that case, you should treat them as untrusted until proven otherwise. If you still choose to proceed, do it with extra precautions (see the safety checklist below). One example of sites that claims to provide older Gorilla Tag builds is [1]. Another example is [2]. If you use any mirror, make sure the download is consistent with the game’s expected file structure and that you can verify integrity (hash/checksum) when possible.Safety checklist before installing an old Gorilla Tag versionDo not run unknown installers if you can avoid it; prefer official platform downloads.Scan every downloaded file with at least Windows Security (and ideally a second scanner).Check file names and sizes: suspiciously small “game” files often indicate repackaged malware.Use a sandbox or separate Windows user to reduce risk.Back up your current game folder before replacing anything.Be careful with mods: older versions may require older mod loaders, which can increase risk.Compatibility and multiplayer warningsOld versions may not be compatible with current servers or may fail to connect. Even if the game launches, multiplayer can break due to protocol changes. If you’re trying to play with friends, confirm that everyone is on the same version and that the server supports it.What to do if the old version won’t launchVerify dependencies: ensure your GPU drivers and runtime components (like VC++ runtimes) are up to date.Restore original files if the old build is missing assets.Remove conflicting mods: temporarily disable or delete mod folders to test a clean launch.Check logs: look for error messages in the game’s log folder (if present) and search the exact error text.Quick decision guideIf you want the old version for reliability: try official rollback/branches first. If you must use a mirror: download only from a site you can evaluate, scan the file, and avoid anything that looks altered or bundled. If you want multiplayer: confirm version compatibility with your friends and servers.Useful referencesIf you’re comparing options for older Gorilla Tag builds, you may also see additional listings on [3], [4], [5], and [6]. Use these as starting points for research, but still apply the safety checklist before installing anything.Note: I can’t guarantee any third-party site is safe. Always prioritize official sources and security scanning.
