Can I use my kitchen sink as a “container” to Sous Vide?

Yes, you can. Just be careful not to let any water run through the drain and down your pipes. If this happens you will have to get it fixed by a plumber.

Can you Sous Vide in a 5 gallon bucket?

You can! It’s not really 5 gallons though, it’s actually about 25 cubic feet. The way I do this is to take a 3/4″ PVC pipe and put some silicone on the inside to create a chamber where my sous vide circulator sits.

Then I put a piece of rubber hose into the chamber. That way, it is air-tight and will trap the smell of the food.

The rubber hose allows for some evaporation so that I can use the bucket to store the bagged food.

Are all Sous Vide containers BPA free?

No, there is no bisphenol A (BPA) in the Polyscience Polybags, but some plastics contain trace amounts of BPA.
