Is Red Copper Pan Safe For a Glass Top Stove?
What is Red Copper Pan?
The red copper pans are non-stick ceramic pans coated with tough-grade copper that won’t leave any scratch marks on the surface. Not only scratch marks, but also they don’t chip away and peel off. Also, all these red copper pans are Perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA) and Polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) free. These red copper pans are dishwasher safe and can withstand extreme temperatures like 500℉.
Design and features
The red copper pans are available in different sizes like 12 inches, 10 inches, and many more. The first time when you see these red copper pans, you will notice that the price range is shallow when compared to other copper pans in the market. These red copper pans come with a stainless steel handle that does not become hot even if you have used them for a long time. So there is no need to worry, or there is no need to wear clothes or other instruments to lift the pan. As they are high-temperature resistant, they can also be used inside the oven. But when you use these pans in the ovens, the stainless steel handle also becomes hot. So it would be fine if you used cloth or other instruments to lift the pan.
You can brown your meats in the pan and then place them in the oven to finish them. You can also cook food in the pan and then place it in the oven to keep them warm.
Cooking with Red Copper pans
The best selling point of this pan is that you don’t need to use butter or oil for cooking your foods as they are non-stick pans. Before using these red copper pans, you need to season them. But don’t worry, the seasoning is not at all problematic. You need to put some vegetable oil on the pan in the form of a thin coating. Now set the pan inside the oven and heat the pan for about twenty minutes with medium heat. Now lift the pan from the oven and wipe off the oil with the help of a cloth. Now the pan will be ready to use.
As copper is a good conductor of heat and electricity, you don’t need to wait a long time to heat the pan. You need to place the pan on the glass top stove or any other traditional stove and wait for one minute. That’s all. You are now ready to cook. As there is no requirement to use oil or butter with these red copper pans, you will also consume fewer calories.
Almost all the non-stick pan companies claim that there is no need to use butter or oil if you have these pans. Your meat or omelet won’t stick to the surface. But I have used almost all the non-stick pans. But these are only claims. In reality, they will stick to the surface. So with this experience, I thought that these are only claims and thought to test this pan. The result is impressive.
I have a glass top stove which takes a long time to heat any pan or vessel. I always think that if I have a traditional stove, then the cooking would be done quickly. So for the testing, I thought of cooking a busted egg. First, I put the pan on the stove and let it become hot. After thirty seconds, I broke the eggs, and to my surprise, the eggs started cooking with a sizzling sound. This is for the first time I noticed that my glass top stove cooked very fast. With the result, I am pleased. I didn’t use any oil or butter with the egg. Still, it doesn’t stick to the surface. As no food sticks to the pan, it becomes very easy for cleaning also.
So I have become a fan of the red copper pan since its first use. They worked better than most of my previous non-stick pans. The cooking time is also reduced as these pans are heating up quickly. Also, I washed the pan in a dishwasher. I have also noticed no scratch marks on the surface. As I have cooked food on a glass top stove with this experience, I can say that these pans can be used safely on gas top stoves.
